The Estancia El Ombú de Areco is located in San Antonio de Areco, core of the gaucho tradition. Areco is only an hour away from Buenos Aires city, which makes it a convenient and comfortable destination for those who live in or visit the city.
Take “Panamericana Acceso Norte”, Pilar branch. It’ll become “Ruta Nacional 8”, follow it up to the roundabout on km. 110. Take the roundabout and turn right on the first exit heading to Route 41 (paved road) towards Baradero, for 5 Km. When you reach the junction with Provincial Route 31 you’ll see the sign that indicates the direction to the Estancia and “Parque Industrial Areco”. There, you must turn right again and take Route 31. The 1st. km until the “Parque industrial” is paved, and the remaining 5 km are dirt road. You’ll see the entrance to the Estancia on the right side.
Note: it’s important to always take Route 8. Sometimes the GPS suggests taking Route 9 as the fastest option, without taking into account this alternative implies driving 40 km on dirt road.
Several daily buses depart from Retiro bus station, in Buenos Aires city, to San Antonio de Areco bus station.
